Tim Golden Comments on Updated National Cybersecurity Plan in MSP Success

The White House recently released Version 2 of the National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan (NCSIP). Tim Golden, CEO of Compliance Scorecard, analyzes the key takeaways and potential risks for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) arising from this revised plan. He highlights how these changes could impact both MSPs' daily operations and their clients' security posture.

Commenting on the DoD Cyber Strategy (Initiative 2.1.1 & 2.1.6), Tim says, “These initiatives focus on publishing and implementing an updated Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Strategy. MSPs and IT companies working with the DoD or within the defense supply chain would need to align their cybersecurity frameworks with the updated DoD requirements.

“This can involve enhancing their cybersecurity measures, ensuring compliance with new DoD standards (CMMC/NIST 800-171), and adjusting services to accommodate more stringent security protocols.”
